I think the clip that clips onto my coolant temp sensor is malfunctioning.

Can someone please get they're car up to running temp and then pull the clip off the sensor and tell me how the temp gauge reacts?

i believe that your fans would not turn on and your car would slowly begin to heat up and the temp would just keep rising.

try turning on your ac that turns the fan on to see if it cools your temp down at all, if so that the fans are not kicking on then it could be your sensor.

 

well, see the reason in thing that that clip is fugged up is because if i detach it from the sensor, there is no change in the temp gauge. My gauge is already a little screwed cause it jumps around and shudders all the time so i though the wires inside that clip might be frayed or something and the contact eachother even when the clip isnt connected (which would be why i still get readings even when its disconnected)
