Default spark plug wires

my question is.. are there any differences between stock spark plus wires and ones with bigger diameters? do u really get hp gains? (i kno not to believe most things on ebay), but sumone has told me that too... so i was just curious.

heres the spark plug wires im looking at. >>http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33692 <<

do u think those are real JDM wires? and is 10.2mm bigger than stock? sorry for the noob questions. but i'd like to know once and for all. :D

thanks for reading.

Just make sure they are spiral wound non-interference. But you will most likely on a healthy engine not get any gains. Probably a better idle at best.

Try NGK wires. I think they are best. Email nvthai@msn.com for better prices than sponsors. Tell him James recommended.

Most high performance (built for track) hondas simply run oem wires. They are built to carry max spark so anything aftermarket will either perform just as well if not worse. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Tuner Product Review did dyno tests a few months ago on a turbo Civic. The Ones with biggest increase were MSD and Accel. MSD= +3.8hp and Accel= +1.8hp.

Accel wires are ****! If your going to spend any less than $75 on a set of wires, you'll be replacing them within a few months due to internal breakdown of the wires. MSD on the other hand is a pretty good wire but I'm still going to have to say stick with oem.

My msd wires don't work with my MSD box, either do the OEM wires, I guess I will try taylor wires next, at least they have life time warranty

NGK's cost under $75.. I dont think they will be going bad anytime soon!

I would go with NGK or MSD.. I think we can all say MSD has proven themselves with great products..

I've got NGK iridium plugs, magnecor wires, MSD SCI ignition, and a Blaster SS coil. I've had them for two years and never had a problem. All together it did give some power. I wouldn't get wires unles you plan on runnin an MSD and Coil, it'll help in conducting the current to make larger, multiple sparks. It does help in burnin fuel, the more you burn the more power.

There is a spark plug wire dyno test floating around the net from a few years ago. The tested several "high performance wires" against the 9 yr old OEM NGK's that were on the vehicle.

None of the aftermarket wires gained any hp over the stock, in fact the OEM wires put out 1 whp more then the aftermarket wires.

My adivce, get some NGK's and call it a day.

do u mean import tuner cuz i remember the msd made most power and the fit sucked cuz they had to use zip ties and ngk was 2nd in power gains and best in fit

here is the dyno test i was talking about.

http://www.vtec.net/articles/v...=8680

although they reference NGK vs OEM, NGK is the manufacturer of OEM honda wires, IIRC.
