if you want a smooth ride and not that small of a rim size.. i would look in 16 inch rims. the reason is that if you get a bigger wheel diameter, the tire gets thinner. that makes your ride a lot more bumpier and you can feel every little pebble on the floor.

larger rims = more weight = heavier launch = slower car

if your going for the "show" then 17"s fit onto your civic. if you want to play it safe and go for little show and go, 16" would cut it nicely. i hope your into rota's for 16's
i just read again that you want that smooth ride... dont get such low profile tires. if you do, your gonna feel more bumps/dips/objects off the road. the good side is that some tires have a better tread rating if using non-low profile range.

But jesus christ, this has been asked so many times. So god damn many times, and theres a search button, all you have to do is hit the search button.

my opinion, when i had my 17s it ride smooth and good, now that i have my 15s **** rides gay, but i like my 15s because its mugen MF8s, to tell you the truth with my 17s it rides so much safer, it all depends on what you have done to your suspension. 17s are okay to ride with, plus i had mines slammed didn't rub too much

17s are safer? What? Have you been smoking crack? That makes no sense, at all, or I'm just really tired or something. I guess your title is right.

And, 17s would ride worse. And I believe that when you upgrade suspension it will be stiffer so actually the ride would get even worse yet. Plus having a tire about a half inch thick makes every bump really stand out.

There is no reason for 17s. Hell while your at it why not cut some **** out and put 22s on there, so you can really bling bling?

Sorry if I'm being an ***, but I haven't slept :\

A 17inch wheel will handle better as long as the you have a thinner sidewall then a pair of 16's. Less sidewall flex is goooood.

I read the big *** GREEN title of his first and wanted to see if it was true........it's sooooo true. Hahaha
Anyway, the smaller the rim, the more tire you have, the better the ride quality. Bigger rim--->lower profile tire---> less air cushion---> shittier ride.

Anyway get whatever rims you want dude. Unless you are asking about mugen front lips and 15" rims on this site, you wont get any productive answers on appearance because if your car isnt JDM then it isnt good looking

specv5150 you hit it on the nose dude.
Whats the big deal about JDM?!!!
If you want JDM go to japan. You won't have to pay 3 times the price for "JDM" parts. If you want to be original why would you copy whats cool in Japan?
17's look sweet on civics, especially if its lowered...even just a little bit. But with 17's you loose ride quality, even with upgraded suspension. Trust me, i had 17's on my EG with tokico shocks and springs and you could still feel every little crack and pebble on the road, even with the shocks on the softest setting. Then i changed to some 15's to get some sidewall on the tires, and now the ride is way smoother. And its funny b/c when i tell people that they are only 15's they don't believe me and they think that they are way bigger.
Moral of the story.....get whatever you want its your car. And don't worry about ****** on the internet who will make fun of you...they are prolly just jealous

2001 Integra GSR Rims own on an EG hatch

I ditched the Kumho Ecstas for some Falken Azenis and my rid is EXTREMELY nice! only downside is that my tires got bald WAY fast with the falkens cuz they're made out of a softer compound.

i have a set of GSR wheels on my hatch, 15 inch with 195/55's on it with some ground control coilovers and i think it rides pretty damn good most of the time. the other part of the time, its the roads fault.
