Re-drilling Prelude VTEC rotors to 4x100 - Share your techniques please
First and foremost - please don't tell me a machine shop can do it because I am not paying someone to drill 8 holes that a monkey with the right tool could do.
Now - I have a rotor to use as a template and new rotors ready to be re-drilled. How do you all:
A) Center the 2 rotors together so that the new holes are aligned properly?
B) Clamp the rotors together?
Is there a better way to make sure the holes are aligned properly?
Also - what size bit do you use for the final cut?

"I am cool cuz I change my own oil . . . . but I pay someone to drill 4 holes in a rotor"
Seriously - I am AMAZED that apparently NOBODY knows how to actually do this?
My god - all I want to know is the best way to align the 2 rotors and hold them together while drilling. I didn't realize it was such a deep dark secret.

why do you want to drill the rotors for 4x100? civic/teggy with H22 and using prelude knuckles? it's like why would I take my 4x114.3 Accord and drill for a weaker 4X100 setup? you make no sense. I've seen where a built H22 was put in a JDM tegra, and contiuously shattered axles. he had a stroke of genius, and used the Teg knuckles with 'Lude axles. the trick was to use the 'Teg outer joint, and use the rest of a 'Lude axle, and use a tegra CV boot kit. worked like a charm, and he has yet to have a problem. again, y do u want to do this?

he makes a lot of sense. read here for more info as to what he's likely doing. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=659063
I will be doing this soon too so I would like to know as well the best way to redrill the rotors w/o wasting my money on someone else doing it.

I would imagine to use a used pair of Lude rotors, and place them on a Drill press and clamped them down. Drill presses are not that expensive.

since your not going through too much material you can get away with drlling by hand rather than a press, but it's up to you, i think thew best way to line them up would be like the hole pattern on a universal 4 lug wheel, basically 90degrees of of stock. if you have two rotors, you can line up the center hole don't wory about clamping them, just make a very precise mark and make a pilot hole.
thad has it.....
or you can use some type of vise grip..
well i would just pay a machine shop 20 to do it.. in 2 mins ....
