Default Warning to those with aftermarket rear sway bars and/or other suspension mods....

If you have your Prelude set up for handling, and have made the rear end much stiffer than stock, then please be careful when you are forced to put a donut on your rear wheel!

Two days ago I had a flat and was forced to put a donut on till I could get to a tire shop to have my tire fixed. In those two days I have swung the rear end around twice accidentally!!! I am running a ST rear sway bar w/ Koni yellow's and Neuspeed Sports.

The first time was simply taking a corner at just over the speed limit and lifting off the throttle while in the corner. The second was turning right onto an exit ramp doing what would normally be somewhat slow. Each time the rear end snapped out, I compensated, it pitched back the other way, and caught it.....nothing was damaged and everything was alright except for my nerves. I still have 2 more days to drive on this bastard of a tire, though.....

So be careful! It's something you may not think about till you're already in a ditch......or staring at an oncoming car's headlights.

Nope, I'm not a 4WS.

And yes, the sway bar made a huge difference, but I haven't had a chance to take my car out and fully push it since I've installed the sway bar.

Most FWD cars will get oversteer if you let off the throttle in a corner.
Even with normal tires and stock suspension.
I'm sure your car would have done the same if it was stock with the donut.

This is actually how the "JDM" cars get the rear to kick out. By running "less grip" tire sizing in the rear. With the donut you've even more extreme. Just drive slow slow, barely speed limit, don't take any turn faster than you would on a tricycle, you're on the spare, it's not designed to handle.

I've had a donut back there before, and it was nothing like that.

It's def. worse w/ the sway bar back there.
