Default B20/VTEC 92 DA WHICH HEADER TO USE?

sup, I want to buy some dc headers for my ride. I was under the impression that all dc headers will give me the same results as long as its a b series header. My friend told me that I should get the Type R dc header. What is the different.

Any b-series header will fit on the b20 block, but depending on what your performance goals are you may want to select a different header.

If you definitely want a DC header:

DC 4-2-1 will give you some midrange power, but not all that much (2.25 in collector)
DC 4-1 for USDM 94-01 Integras will give you some decent midrange and high RPM power (2.25 in collector)

Your friend wants you to get the DC JDM (Type R) 4-1 for Integra Type R, this one is a 4-1 design, but also has a 2.5 in collector, which will require either a 2.5" test pipe or a high flo cat. I figure you are running a b20, so you will have to do some welding/cutting of your muffler and cat/testpipe anyway, so you might as well get the 4-1 JDM TypeR.

All 3 should cost around $250 or less.

There are lots of headers out there that make more power and have better build quality than DC: Toda, AN-R, Bisimoto, Hytech, SMSP, Comptech, etc but they tend to be far more expensive.

Just to clarify, none of the DC Sports headers have a 2.25" collector. All headers that are designed to bolt-on directly to "USDM" Integras (including DC Sports) have 2.00" OD collectors. The only headers that I know of with 2.25" collectors are custom-made pieces.

Yeah, you are correct, sorry for the misinfo. My overall point was you should get the 2.5" collector with the JDM Type R header.

I completely agree, especially on a 2 litre VTEC setup. Any other DC header would just be choking the motor.

Don't forget you are going to have to notch your front crossmemeber to run the jdm 4-1 on a DA. I've been through it, it's not much fun.

you could check out the full race, z1, or place racing crossmember and see if any of them would fit with the 4-1 header, check out http://www.g2ic.com, I bet there is more info on this over there.
