Default Beaver Run Lap Times

What was everyone's laptimes at the Expo? I was just reading the July '04 Car & Driver and saw that they tested the new Lotus Elise there as well as a few others at Beaver Run:

Caterham Seven 1:07.56 / 81.5
Lotus Elise 1:08.96 / 79.9
Factory Five Mark II 1:09.87 / 78.8
Honda S2000 1:10.07 / 78.6
Mazdaspeed Miata 1:13.56 / 74.9

Just thougth it would be interesting to see some comparisons.

Edwin was the quickest to my knowledge...I was a close 2nd

As for the lap times of the new stock cars - well, I'll bet $20 they weren't that fast unless they had a VERY qualified driver.

Edwin ran a few 1.10's & I ran a bunch of 1.11s

Edwin... wow. He was really movin. So was RJ.

I'm not sure about that Jeff guy. I followed him for a while (hence the pic) and I corded one of my victoracers chasing him or PY Edwin (R1366) in the morning. Lance was also very fast, but I'm not sure who of them was the fastest....

Chris - who recalls some cars in the 1:10's and 1:11's...

LOL, no one could keep up with Jim ....

I'm sure he was running as fast as those listed above if not faster.

Jim was in the instructor group - I should have clarified my earlier statement. I was referring to the Advanced Group I was in.

Jim was pulling high 1.09s-1.10s to my best estimation, since he was able to keep up, but not pass when I had no passenger & he had his uncle (~250lbs). Jim normally runs ~2 seconds faster than I do - damn jrsc ;P

I've watched my in-car camera once, didn't time anything...hopefully I'll have some laptimes when I have a free moment I'm off to Buttonwillow this weekend

I know the S2k and Elise are N/A. I can't speak for sure about the others. I wanted to say that the Mazda was FI, but, can't recall.

The Caterham and Factory Five are N/A. As are of course the Elise and S2k.
I don't know about the Mazdaspeed Miata.

The weekend before the Expo, at Heartland Park I ran a 1:44.356 and Jeffie had a 1:47.212. Beaver is shorter, so I'm sure I didn't have a full 3 seconds on him. Yeah with my ballast (er Uncle), I only pulled maybe 1.5-2 car lengths a lap, and my brakes went away after 4 laps.

I think I rolled Edwin. I will have to review my tape

Although, there were alot of cars out there that I did not see much of all weekend - if you have similar cars with competent drivers on a relatively easy track to drive fast, you wont see a huge variation in lap times.

Hahah.

The only time I recall being passed at BeaveRun was in the 4th session where I took T7 off camber Michael Knight drifto style. (refer to my Hyjinx #2 video I posted in my Expo video thread) I put my hazzards on and stayed off line and let cars pass then.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....DE%3D

I know Im_in_there from NY passed me on a cool down lap. Hahah that's all I recall.

The tapes don't usually lie so find the video evidence and post it up.

I drive a 2001 CW. A-16 was my number at this year's Expo. I had removed my passenger turn signal for the event based on Baby Nsx's advice.

Yeah I looked a little pissed in the picture but that's for the intimidation factor. Hahah jk

There were some slow boosted cars and fast n/a cars. Fast laps times are usually turned by fast drivers, regardless of the car. Case in point, .RJ was rolling everyone, and I think his car is basically stock.

Next year, we'll probably ask that people put their screen name on the back of the kaa so everyone will be able to tell who they are running with - not for competition, but in the spirit of fun & conversation. I wouldn't have known edwin's car if he didn't have his name on it...

fyi - that's why I ran with the bra on white & blue taped lights, fogs & turn signals - PLUS I've got a jayhawk license plate. Anybody who passed me can post up their video (EDWIN!!)
