Default Fuel pump kill switch

With all the ITR's being stolen, I tried to install a fuel pump kill switch. The fuel pump has a black and wire yellow, I assume the black is the ground so I cut that one and wired it up. Anyways, either way the switch was, the car would still run. I'm talking it ran for a few minutes. Next I just disconnected the black completely and the car still ran. Then I gave up because I didnt have much time left. So, question is, what am I doing wrong? Use the yellow wire next time?

Thanks, scott

Yea, the pump is probably grounded in another place besides that black wire, which is why it still runs.
You should definetly use the postive wire (yellow), make sure that pump is always grounded, because you don't want a spark!

Where are these wires located? Under the carpet on the driver/passenger sides of the car? Images maybe.

I caught some stunnas sitting out side of my house and I think its time to beef up the security even more than just an autolock/club/alarm.

:I know this post is old as hell but, thats what happenes when you use the search function:

the fuel pump is self-grounding. make a positive switch and run it through a relay.

the pump is located under the rear seat. There is few wires going to it, for the pump and for fuel level sending unit. Use an Ohm meter, or a circuit tester (poker w/ a light bulb) and find the wire that has over 12V going to it. The fuel level wire should only have small voltage. Next time, cut the wire to see if it stops the pump from running before you take the time to wire in a switch.
The wire harness runs along the driver side door under the carpet, so if you wanna be neat, cut the wire from over there. Hope this can help.

There is a huge post somewhere about kill switches. I suggest finding that (I believe it was under "kill switch" in the search function in the Integra forum) and it has a bunch of different ways to run the kill switch, with different options to use.
