Default loud clanky noise :(

So yesterday im on my way to work, and my phone rang so im grabbing for my phone and i realize im about to miss my turn well i slam on the brakes, to stop, i pull into the parking lot anwser my call yaddda yadda yada.

well on the way home when i hit the gas (mainly in 1st or 2nd, there is a loud clunky noise. It usually only happens when i accelerate hard,

I check the balljoints, steering tie rods, shocks, shock forks, upper strut bar bolts, upper lca bolts/camber kit, tires are good, no axle grease anywhere, i tried some aggresive turns and i couldnt duplicate the sound, i went over some big speed bumps, no noise so i dont think its a problem with the suspension.

Does this sound like a bad axle? it still drives normal, i drove about 40 miles since the noise started and i didnt have any problems besides the noise.

I check my motor mounts (placeracing) and they mounts arenet cracked or anything, the urathane is fine. im kind of stumped.

I havent jacked the car up yet, i was just posting to get some ideas of what i should inspect for problems.

What gear were you in when you slammed on the brakes and took your turn?

Maybe an exhaust shield rattling around, or a chunk of your cat' came loose and is bouncing around in the exhaust.

Without hearing it, its hard to tell

its definatley not the exhaust.

Check your lug nuts, I doubt it's them but check them just in case. Also, how old is your cat conv, does your gas mileage suck now?

maybe you broke a motor mount? try to shake the motor back and forth by the valve cover, and the intake manifold. it should not move at all.

i have a b16a, with place racing mounts, i thoroughly inspected the mounts yesterday just to make sure they werent cracked or anything.

its not the cat, the cat is practically new, and it would make a clunk like this after hitting the brakes, the problem was non existent before. i will check the lugs on teh way home but im positive this isnt the problem.

Mine does that, i am suspecting the wheel bearing, it clunks when i turn right, and sometimes rattles when i am going straight. Its on teh passenger side, and its not the axle. If my axle nut isnt tight, my wheel will wobble realllly bad. Check that, loosen your axle nut, and see if the wheel will wobble really bad.

if u hear the noise when u start the car and the noise is a constant clunk clunk, its not suspension. more like a rod bearing that decided to go on strike...

i seriously doubt that, it has to do with something in the engine bay but its definatley not the motor, there is no drop in performance, and the clunk is only if i like try to launch the car, something in side it taping against something. Its definatley not a constant clunk,

just if i like dont feather the clutch from first gear, and when i start the motor, like something is torqueing and hitting either the motor or the crossmembers,
