How much would you pay for this ITR?
29k miles, 2001 yellow type r, with rebuilt title. very clean in and out with a few basic mods, 4-1 header AEM intake, muffler, oem body kit.?
The guy wants $15000, good price? I already purchased it, just waiting to pay him.

Will you loan company finance a salvage/rebuilt titled car?
Spend a $3-$4k more and get a car with a clean title.
Selling in future will be a lot easier too.

rebuilt title=R-title which equals the car is worth precisely nothing. u go to trade it in or sell it, u can only sell it for half of what its worth.in other words, u paid too much
gonna pay the whole thing in cash.
car registered jan 2001
car accident in july 2001
rebuilt 2001.
it's also got spoon rims. I forgot.
I probably not gonna sell this car, it's probably gonna get stolen, and get money from insurance company

depends what the damage was. doesnt sound like a bad deal to me though. despite the rebuilt/salvage title it seems to hold its value very well, especially since more and more seem to be popping up with these titles.
Buddy, you need to read this forum more often.

I believe you are talking about the same car that is being discussed in that thread.... and those aren't spoon wheels.

I didnt read the other thread, im lazy. but as long as the car is in good working order, it has low miles and appears to be pretty clean. i dont think its a bad deal. i just hope you checked it out before buying.

no? dont be so sure. I bought my ITR SALVAGED/REBUILT with 8K miles on it for 18,500. at about 29K, the interior and some engine pieces were stolen, car was totalled by insurance. how much did I get back? 19,500. car was totalled TWICE and I still got back more than I paid for it. obviously it will depend on the insurance company, but thats how it worked out for me.

That's funny. As soon as I read "spoon wheels" I knew it was the one discussed yesterday. Damn we're nerds.
Good luck and I hope it works out. As far as I'm concerned, nothing is bought until the money is in hand.
Get that thing checked over before you get yourself into something you can't get out of.

Would the car having Spoon wheels make it worth spending that much on a rebuilt title car? You say you didnt even know they werent spoon wheels, then how do you know what you're looking for to begin with? Its just a set of wheels, the title is way more important than the set of $500 rotas on the car.

why yes. rebuilt title implies legally that you take fair market value and divide it in half
x 50

Better check on insurance too. If it's financed, the insurance company will demand full coverage. I hear most insurers will NOT do comprehensive on salvage titles anymore. I hear this is due to accidents where there could be frame damage that cannot be seen, and they don't want to be on the hook for having to repair it if there is another accident. There are some that will though. Check it out before you pay. It would suck to have an R that you can't get comprehensive on (theft issue).
However you can work with the ins co to agree on a replacement value that takes into account mods, market value, etc. However be prepared to pay extra, and you will have to document it up front.
:edit: Furthermore, is it salvage or rebuilt? (Maybe NY has different laws). Salvage implies the damage was at least 50-65% of the car's value to repair. For an accident, that's a lot of damage. Maybe rebuilt is a lower threshold, and insurance won't be an issue. EITHER WAY, CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE AGENT *BEFORE* YOU PART WITH YOUR CASH.

Insurance is $560/6 month.. 1000 deductible.
selling the car is not what i am worrying about, probably never gonna sell this masterpiece rather, just hoping nothing is wrong with the engine and stuff, gonna have a mechanic check it out tomorrow morning. before i hand over the cashier check.
I've driving my Integra 99 LS auto for 4 years now... Everytime i see my friend driving his Celica GTS, making me wanna drive manual so bad...
I don't really know how to drive stick yet, having my friend go with me tomorrow to pick up the car.. taking a few stick shift lessons next week..
