pay about 2000ish labor and all to get your auto converted. if you wanted to you could keep the auto on a gsr or ITR motor, you'd have to swap the auto flywheel on, then bolt everything up....it would be pretty silly to do that. are you afraid of driving a 5 speed or something?

That would be really wierd, you would have to use something like an automatic P28 ECU to control both VTEC and the auto tranny, chipped for the DOHC engine's fuel requirements, etc.

I say just a get a swap that comes w/ manual trans, get the manual conversion mount kit and associated manual tranny components and go to town.

I've seen auto-to-manual conversions done for as little as $500 before, but that was with a lot of junkyard digging, and plenty of skill with a welder. What few people realize is that the upper tranny mounting point is different between the auto's and manual's and either an aftermarket mount built specifically for the purpose of the conversion must be used, or someone with the mad skills must remove the mounting point from the car, and then resize and reweld it in the correct location.

hmm.. an 01, that new of a car, I would look to sell it, and buy an older ls or integra with that body style in a 5-speed. saves you $ and the headache
