Default making a 13mm es bushing into a 14mm

would it be possible to drill/shave 1 mm off the inner diameterof a es swaybar bushing..i ordered the wrong size and instead of waiting to send it back and receiving the 14mm ones i though of this.

not that u mentiont hat i might try chopping up my extra front es endlink bushing,to use them for the rear being that they dont make a set for the rear..
and being that i got all my specs wrong when ordering my bracket bushings,my fronts are too small also,i ordered 22mm instead of 24mm,time to break out the dremel but im scared that i wont dremel it perfecly round to fit around the swaybar without gaps or uneven spots...

got it
a 9/16 drill bit to make the 13mm to 14mm
a 15/16 drill bit to make the 22mm 24mm

If you drill out a swaybar bushing to make it fit a larger bar, it won't have the grooves inside to properly hold the grease, and so it will end up squeeking ALL the time. Trust me, squeeking bushings are NO fun on a daily driver.

Just buy the correct size bushings.

i would think that widening the bushings like that would either weaken them or have a negative effect on their performance...i would just buy new ones, im sure you can sell the old ones and recoop some of the lost $$

Can't you just use the 13mm bushings anyway? I know guys with 22mm bushings on a 23mm sway bar.

well it turned out that my rear bar was infact a 13mm bar after pulling the old ones off it was the same...however the front was 24mm and i used a 22mm es bushing, there was about a 1 mm gap in the bushing after the bracket was tightened down,it will do for a while till i feel like putting 24mm bushings up front to replace the 22mm..
