Default Wheel Spacers squeaking

I have 1" spacers that are adaptor style (bolts to your existing lugs, and has stronger studs to bolt the wheel to). Does anyone else run this kind, and if so, do they squeak? And if they squeak, do you just put up with it, or can you put like antisqueal compound or something on them? Or also, could this mean improper fitment?

what size wheel/tire are you running that you need 1" spacers?

To answer the question, I'd imagine that if the spacers are squeaking while you're driving the car, that something isn't torqued down properly or there is a fitment issue.

are you sure your wheel bearings aren't saying "later, dude!"?

with 1" spacers, that sounds like a possiblity. and bearings can make all sorts of neat noises when they fail....

jack up the car, grab the tire at 12 and 6 oclock, and try to wiggle it back and forth. there should be no play...

good luck!

I assume the number of moving parts on a wheel spacer would suggest that the spacers themselves are not squeaking.

Pay attention to what causes the squeak, and when it changes. Does the squeak depend on the speed of the car? sounds like drivetrain, axle, hub, etc....... is it dependent on suspension travel? could be bushings, ball joint, etc...

//wiseass// I soak mine in 15-50 synthetic, but others have used ATF to success //wiseass off//

They can't be making ANY noise, but might be making something else squeak due to extra offset. Bearings??

I'll run them again later this month and check the bearings while I do. Thanks for the replies!
