Dipstick help needed. Please respond
The ?gasket? that seals the dipstick into the dipstick tube has melted, and crumbled into little piece of plastic which in turn fell down the dipstick hole. Now I have two probelms:
1. I guess there are pieces of plastic down in the oil pan. Will that get picked up by the oil filter or should I drop the oil pan?
2. My dipstick now has no seal with the dipstick tube, and falls down. Is this bad to run short term-just till I can get another stick?
thx.

Dude, that doesnt help me at all. wtf are you talking about?

You can run without a dipstick temporarily, just tape off the whole till you can get a new one. If it where me I'd just leave the crumbled rubber in the oil, and change it in a few hundred miles.. but I don't really recommend that to you. The "right" thing to do would be to take the pan off and get the crap outta there.
Same thing just happened to me. My gasket actually caught fire while on track at Summit Point.
Did you ever resolve your problem? I'm pretty sure the location of the dipstick by the turbo manifold caused mine to burn up.

oil pan is easy to take off, but not fun..id take it off and stare at the rods and crank while it drips oil into your eyes. VERY entertaining

u can drain the oil and change out the filter, then maybe try pouring some motor oil in the motor and see if it flushes out the plastic stuff. if not, u may need to drop the pan.
I ran without dipstick for a couple weeks. Order an OEM one from http://www.acuraoemparts.com
I indeed ran for a hundred miles and got an oil change. Hopefully those bits of rubber are in the old oil filter. I now have bent the tube to be 0.5 inches away from my turbo.
Also, with boost, my blow-by was causing enough pressure to let some oil get out of the tube onto my turbo. Stinky!
