Default '83 Civic Hatchback

i picked up a running 83 hatchback.. 5speed, 1.5 carb, a few months back... ive been talking to people about engines... i understand i would prob need a complete motor with wire harness and axles, transmission. i dont kno much about hondas or there engines but i have a friend to help me do the swap when the time comes... my questions are

Will i need to reinforce the front end for a new engine?

b20, b18, b16, etc what do these come out of?

wat is a good low compression engine that will take a turbo with some internals?

what type of upgrade will i need for fuel system?

does the alternator, distrubutor, radiator all need to be upgrade substantstially with a new engine?

ive heard of clips would that be easier to complete the front end?

wat price should i be looking at for engines complete...?

Jason

An 83??? I don't think many people do motor swaps into those cars. Especially b-series swaps. If anything I think your best bet is to go d-series. But I'm pretty sure you'll have to do some extensive wiring to get it running properly.

Sorry I'm not much help at all. But good luck

would be easier to go carbeaurated(SP?) but a carbeaurated b16 would definately kick ***. it will all have to be custom and no one can really answer your questions because no one has done it before. we can only answer them as good as u and guess.

wiring is no problem thats about the only thing i could do on a car... i mistaked my numbers and engine codes...looks like im gonna go with a d16 motor do some internal work on it and eventually turbo it.. im not too sure im gonna get much help from this forum seeing as my post was less then a day old and it was on page 3 already... page 4 after a btt... but were would one pick up internals? do other car internals swap in and are better? i have a line on a motor 300 bucks but would need a tranny... i have a dx1500 83 wouild that tranny mate up or do you suggest a new one... is a 6 speed worth it? and i dunno why but would i need to reinforce the front end?

i think it'd be pretty simple, get some motorcycle carbs (mikuni maybe), and ignore all the sensors in the b16, and run an msd ignition since you can do it without the ecu. sounds like you still need to learn a lot though.
