Default just bought an bumper from an 00 si, why doesnt it fit my 4dr?

just picked up an bumper from an EPB si, has the oem lip, grill and i just went ahead and got it painted the stock honda black professionally. When i went to put it on, the bumper didn't seem wide enough to wrap around the car.. like if i would hold one side in, the other side would not stay, i even took off the FOAM bumper support piece behind it. My question is, is it for exclusively for 2 door 99-00 civics? i noticed the bumper is a little longer looking on the 4dr. Thanks, will have pics up soon.

i don't know about the EK but i know the bumper off an EG 2dr/3dr will not fit a coupe without the fenders and hood off a 2/3dr so maybe it is the same

i don't know why you're having problems.

its for my gf's car, she has been in a 1mph accident hitting something in the front before but i dont think it was that big, they replaced the headlight and repainted the bumper appears to be, i was getting eating alive by bugs outside her house so i didnt' mess with it too much but could it be the support bar? i mean her stock bumper fits perfectly on there and this bumper did come off another car...

so its confirmed doesn't matter if its 2 door or 4 door? did the 96-98 bumpers ever had vents on the side like the si or newer civics where the OEM foglights go

It will fit. You just to get one side on a bit, then the other side, then just shove it on..

hm.. i think u got the 96-98 model. n u're tryin to put on a 99-00 bumper on.

that's y it wont fit! check!

but if ur car is a 99-00.. it should fits rite on.. even if ur gf hit something at 1mph. damage isnt THAT bad.

leave it in the sun for a few hours to let it expand and maybe more flexable if it were a tight fit or something

when i bought my bumper and tried to fit it originally it wouldnt fit, i tried wrestling with it but eventually I found that the bumper was "warped" the top and the bottom were closer than they were suppose to be so I pulled on the top and bottom until it went over that metal bar and it fit like a glove. Try looking at the spots were it wont stick and see where its hitting, you might just have the same problem as me.

That's absolutely wrong. Firstly, ALL 1999-2000 Honda Civic front bumpers are interchangeable. Secondly, ALL 1996-1998 Honda Civic front bumpers are interchangeable. And lastly, ALL 1996-2000 Honda Civic sedan and coupe rear bumpers are interchangeable.

Yes, even the rear. Like I said, all 1996-2000 Honda Civic sedan and coupe rear bumpers are swappable. I have an EJ8 sedan, and my friend has an EM1; we swapped rear bumpers because he wanted to see what an OEM '96-'98 rear lip would look like on his car.
