Default Skunk 2 Stage 2's Tuning.

Hi,

My friend has the following setup:

JDM B18C Type R engine
Spoon os pistons
Spoon Headgasket
Head Milled 10''
AEM FPR
Skunk2 valve springs and retainers
Skunk 2 stage 2 cams and cam gears
Spoon Sports ECU.

He is planning to uprgde to a power FC sometime but for now is there a way that we can achieve a decent state of tune with these mods please?

Is it possible?

Please help us guys.....

there is no "tuning device" how are you going to tune?

You cannot alter air/fuel/vtec settings with just an ECU. You can play w/ the cam gears if you want, but i wouldnt suggest it.

He sure can, strap it to a dyno and play with the cam gears. Personally I'd leave it set to 0 until the Power FC and then get it dyno'd.

We have access to a dyno but the power Fc will not be bought for now.

But do you think that by adjusting the FPR and the cam gears on the dyno we can tune it pls?

Anyone has any idea? Is it safe to test the car on the dyno as it is?

car should be safe as it is, since you matched up all the components using spoon products.

u could also tune the timing, and see if that helps any.

you should be fine for now... iw ouldnt do anything to aggressive witht he cam gears untill you can tune it a little better, but go for it.. mess with the fpr to make sure you arent running to lean and you should be fine.
i would definitely go with hondata in the future though to get the most out of the motor

yeah you probably need to add in a little fuel with the fpr, you have a gauge i am assuming? You could mess with the timing a little, personally I wouldn't till you get a power fc/aem/hondata whatever...

Do what other's have suggested. IMHO, it'd be a waste of $$ to tune it only w/ FPR and cam gear at this point. You need at least V-AFC to alter A:F ratio, then tackle it more w/ FPR. Save the $$ for a PowerFC.
