Default no spark

ok a friend of mine had his motor swapped by my other friend, it was just a simple block and head swap since he blew his motor. but now theres no spark, and i was reading his clinton manual and it says that the blk/yel wire on the ignitor should have volts but when i tested it there wasnt any volts.

so does anyone have a wiring diagram to show me were this wire runs or does anyone know where that wire runs too ?

plz help, my friend hasnt had his car running in 6 months

First of all, it is not a motor, it's called an engine.... A starter is a motor... A fan is a motor.

Best advice, if you are going to play in the car like that, get a service manual. THe best investment you will make.

i already checked all the fuses and they were all good.

the clintons book said if there wasnt any volts then to repair open between the ignitor and ignition switch but when i did a continuity test between the 2 points, it showed there was continuity.

plz more help

mo-tor
n.

Something, such as a machine or an engine, that produces or imparts motion.

A device that converts any form of energy into mechanical energy, especially an internal-combustion engine or an arrangement of coils and magnets that converts electric current into mechanical power.

When your playing "Mr. know it all", make sure you actually do know it all.

civickiller,
I'm assuming your friend has a '92-'95 civic(cause thats the only book I have) ha
Anyway, according to my Haynes(which really blows for wiring diagrams), if your #15 fuse isnt blown(and is actually in place), then you should be getting power to the blk-yel at the coil. First I'd make sure your getting power to fuse #15. One way to do this is, turn your ignition to the on position, put your tranny in reverse, and see if the reverse lights are working.
If not, the problem is somewhere before the fuse box.
If they do come on, then I'd guess there is a break in the wire between fuse #15 and the coil somewhere.

check ground on THERMOSTAT HOUSING follow the lower radiator hose and it will lead u to the housing there should be a ground loop grounded there by a 10mm bolt.............common thing to forget, you won't get spark b/c that grounds the ECU. Happened to me on my first swap. Since then I have done about 6-7 swaps and always check that and always gets spark................as long as distributor is good

replace the ignitor had the same problems in mine even if you test the unit and think it is good it could be boarder line and fail when you are turning over the key. i just replaced mine and fixed it right away.

i did the ignitor test in my friends clinton manual and it says to test for volts in the blk/yel wire which is like the first step and when i did taht i didnt get any volts at all, so thats why im looking for a wiring diagram

can someone tell me where the wires runs through anything, like maybe the main relay or something like that or where the wire goes to on the ecu.

i got power coming out of the ignition switch, and i got continuity between the blk/yel wire and the ignition switch. is there any relays between the switch and the dist ? does it go through the main relay ?
