GSR drivers with ITR/CTR cams, which header is a good match? HELP!
I am planning to buy a set of ITR/CTR cams, but want to buy my header first. First off, would a 4-1 or 4-2-1 design work better with these cams? I don't want to buy a set up that will work against itself. I was looking into a Comptech 4-2-1, and know that will beef up mid-range power, but wont the ITR cams put out more power in the top-end? If so, a 4-1 header would be more suitable, right?
This is my daily driver, so mid-range power is probably best, but I do love to let the top-end scream. Please help me out, thanks.

Damn! I was looking to spend $500-600 at the most. Seems like 4-1 would better suite me. Any other brands? I wont mention DC......you'll probably laugh at me.

My vote goes to Toda. But you don't have enough money it seems. I say go with the Comptech 4-2-1, ITR cams aren't going to give you wild top end and unless your raising your redline then they won't completely benefit their potential. Comptech is a very good header. Also, check into smsp...i've heard good things about that header aswell.
I say save up a few more bills and get the Toda
. Then throw on a 2.5" Carsound Cat

Agreed. In that general price range and without the concern of clearing A/C, an AN-R or Bisimoto header is what I would suggest.

JDM ITR header with the 2.5in collector is your best bet or you can even get the dc sport jdm header with the 2.5in collector

Do yo have proof of this? Besides, if thats the only difference between the two headers, I would opt for the cheaper of the two.

If I didn't get my "JDM" DC Header for so damn cheap, I would've gone with a Comptech 4-2-1 so I could retain my A/C. I had one before and it was a great header. Comptech gets a vote from me, but so does AN-R, Bisimoto, DTR... etc. Search the classifieds long enough and you'll find one of the higher end headers for a reasonable price.

I'm sorry but I can't see why anyone in their right mind would spent that much on just a header, that is well on the way to a turbo setup!

do a search for the "Great header Test" and go to the link, it will show the dyno's of all the best headers as well as the curves.
Matter a fact the JDM 4-1 looks like it has a little more mid range supprisingly being the comptech is suppose to be a "mid range header".

Pay close attention to the charts on that post. Although the JDM DC didn't place very high, it really contributes to a good power band. A good value IMHO. Not the best, but something for budget racers like myself

the jdm dc 4-1 is great...i got one on my 94 gsr with R cams, skunk2 manifold, and a p28...the header picked me up about 2 -3 tenths on my 1/4 time i guess...there not too expensive..i sell them to my freinds for $270...
