Difference between 1997 and 2001 ITR rear calipers?
part numbers are different because honda went with a different manufacturer for the rubber piston seals and slide boots, but other than that... no difference in fitment. same part number for pads and rotors, etc.
Beware!
There is a difference in the way the rear calipers seem to bolt up to the hub/control arm.
I remember sgT had a problem fitting a non-97 rear caliper to his car.
To be on the safe side get the right caliper.

Yup, that's another one of the changes...

Bringing this back from the dead.....on my 97, my bleeder screw is 11mm. Such a odd ball size if you ask me. So nothing else will work for a 97 other than the direct replacement? Can anyone confirm this?

the mount place appeared to be different...meaning where the caliper bolts to the bracket..I just went throught this with my R.....the 97 is WAY more expensive and not offered as a reman. so its over 300 bucks for the 97 and bout 100 bucks for a reman 98 spec.

Victor Perri has had to fool with this a few times. He has an early 1997 (#312). Look for him on aim as "siracer" and he'll tell you what he knows about it. He collects information.

That sucks. I have some autozone calipers on the rear of my 97 and was planning on doing some remaned calipers all around this summer...

If this is true then its not so bad anyone else confirm this?

For the $, I'd go with a rear caliper setup from fastbrakes using wilwood components or something.....

But for those who want OEM, espescially if theres no front brake upgrade being done?

Same pads - just more pistons and no sliding caliper design.
They would also shed a bit of weight. But the main thing is how much easier it'd be to change pads.

But if we can get some 98+ w/ bracket and bolt it up to our 97s, we will be laughing. Question is will that solve the problem.

Fine. I'll upgrade my rear calipers and you can have mine.
