99 Civic Code ?
Okay, if this is supposed to be somewhere else...please don't shoot me. I'm new. Anyway....my girlfriend's 99 Civic DX is throwing Code 0108 MAP/BARO Circuit High Input (checked it using my OBDII reader). Can anyone give me pointers on fixing it? Can I just go to a junkyard and get a MAP off another 99 DX or is there more involved? Thanks!
It's a bit more invovled than that. You need to pinpoint the actual cause. I suggest that you get a service manual to check this issue because of the complexity to describe what you need to do to troubleshoot.
I have a couple here of manuals here, but i don't have access to a scanner or camera.
Usually, 3 things can set this code, either a bad map sensor, an open circuit or a bad ecu. Now which one is it in your case, you need to test the output of the sensor, the circuit itself or the ecu.
If i find something, i will come back and post.

Well, a new MAP sensor from an online vendor is around $50.
So you pay $85 diag fee + parts (and you can be sure it'll be over $50) + labor (probably 2 hours @ $75/hour) = $285
You could get a Helms for $75 + multimeter (<$75) + new MAP and still come under what the dealer was gonna charge you + now you've got some diagnostic tools for when the next problem crops up.
Is this a bone stock Civic?

Yup, its stock. I was just going to have the dealer do the diagnostic work and then I'd fix it. I'll probably get the manual for it since it appears she's intent on keeping it til it falls apart...literally. I have a multimeter already so that's no biggie. I'll look into the online MAP order...I know most of the local auto parts stores charge more than 50. Some have even told me I have to go to the dealer for it...now that would cost a fortune.

You have a meter - did you ever measure the MAP output voltage like I suggested?
On Speed-Density metered fuel injection systems, the MAP and RPM are the two main inputs needs to look up an initial fuel injector pulse width and ignition timing value - so with the ECU thinking you have a high MAP input, it has to resort to some 'safe' value to allow you to limp the car home.
