azenis are pretty good for launching/cornering. The only real gripe i had about the tire, is how fast they wear, and you cant hear when you are pushing the tires to the limit. They dont squeel, or chirp, or anything like that. They are such a soft material that its silent in hard turns/launching. awesome hook up though, and they usally run about 90-110 a tire depending on where you go and who you know. the parada spec 2's i think are close to 120 a tire. not 100% on that.

and how many miles you get from the Azenis with here and there racing?</TD></TR></TABLE>
azenis are the better tire.
azenis with light racing use will last anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 miles.
rotate often and you MIGHT see 20K.
depends though, even if it wears quick, it's still the best performing street tire in the world.

some people like azenis, some like parada. i havent really launched or anything on my paradas yet because im waiting tog et my car back (hopefully today or tomarrow) and after i get it dynoed, then ill go have some launch fun.
On my 4th gen I recently ran 205/50/15's on the stock si rim. I got them for $75 a tire from http://www.tires.com
so the price is right and it is hard to burn through a set in just a couple of days. and offered pretty good grip.
Problems I see:
heavier than other tires especially when running them with my HEAVY OEM wheels.
on hot roadcourse days in the desert they lose their grip (I don't have a pyrometer but I could not keep my had on the tires because of the heat so about 140-150 degrees)
they feel pretty squishy in fast transitions at least for the size I listed above (feel pretty good on 17" wheels though but I also experienced tire rub with the 225/45/17)
When driving on the street your mileage will drop significantly.
But again I don't think I can really complain for the price.

azenis get greasy in high heat, long session situations. it's why most people have garden sprayers to cool them down after runs. It gets to be a problem in say, a roadracing environment, but for auto-x it's not a big deal unless you're driving in 120 degree heat.
i haven't met a street tire with stiffer sidewalls and more instant response than the falkens. it may not be a hoosier, but i don't expect it to be.
they are heavy, but that's a function of the stiff sidewalls.

Bad-monkey, what wheels are you using? 5th gen stockers? I can't tell in your avatar. I was talking about 205/50/15 in 15 minute tight roadcourse sessions in 90 degree heat (the track was a lot hotter in full sun), so yeah they got hot and stayed hot. I could watch my lap times getting slower but they leveled out.
They gripped a hell of a lot better than the last set of tires I ran and I ended up burning (literally) about an eighth of brake pad material in 75 miles!
But like I said before the 225/45/17 felt great in fast transitions AND you cannot beat the price.

15x7 team dynamics.
yeah the 6.5" width of the stockers wouldn't help the sidewalls stiffness, and i've never been on the 225/45/17's but i think that's more a function of wheel width than the tire.
were the 225/45's on a prelude? how was the acceleration like? i was thinking about going 225/45 but didn't want to mess up my gearing.

They were a little close in the wheel well on my 4th gen lude and rubbed a little on another 4th gen prelude. As far as acceleration I don't think that the 17" wheels made that much difference since with either set (205/50/15 or 225/45/17) I was hitting the front straight at about 90MPH. Mind you I have a quaife equipped M2F4 4th gen vtec tranny with pretty low gearing so I don't know what exactly it would be like with the 5th gen tranny.

i dont deal with falken anymore...
my front tires lasted just over a month and a half, back ones still at 90% though... i tried to get new tires off warrenty but no luck
went back to pirelli after that...

To answer this question...
According to Falken, the size you specified is recommended to be mounted on a 7.0-8.0 inch wheel.
They make a 205-55/16 Azenis Sport that is made for 5.5-7.5 inch wheel. That would probably be more suitable for you stock rim.
I agree with the fact that these tires are great bang for their buck. You won't find a tire in the same price range that is capable of the same grip.
There are a few flaws to the Azenis. It can be noisy on the road. The treadwear rating is only 200, so if you daily drive AND regularly Auto X / HPDE, don't expect a whole lot of miles out of them. Some guys get 10k-12k on 'em, but they are really abused.
Also, they do tend to get a littel greasy during long HPDE events. They will over heat a little and become a little slippery. And as far as making them squeal, oh it's possible. You will know when you're pushing these tires to the limits. If you want a tire that doesn't show any signs of it giving up, buy an R compound tire. They are not for the novice.

Another tire to look at...
Pirelli PZero System Asimmetrico.
Tire Rack is having a special price of $92/tire in 205/50/16
I have a set, and really like them.
140 treadwear / Traction A / Temp A
Very stable during Road Racing, Nice grip during AutoX...and a quiet tire at the limit.
Awesome grip in the rain. Unlike the Azenis.
