Door handle damage question
I'm in the process of fixing up my car so I'm now trying to figure out how to fix the area around my driver's side door handle.
The car was broken into before I got it and they apparently got in by inserting a screw driver under the door handle and prying it out. Now there is a huge indentation around the handle which is all rusted now. The handle is back in place and stays okay but I'd like to repair it correctly. I was thinking of bondo'ing it but I'm not quite sure how to do it since there is a big hole to the right of the handle - in other words, I don't think it can be hammered back into the original shape then bondo'ed over.
Any suggestions? Should I take the door panel off and get to it from behind? Do I need to attach a piece of metal over the whole and then bondo over that? I wish I could post a pic but I don't have anywhere to host them.
Thx
