Default skunk2 short shifters - single or dual bend - which is your choice?

i finally picked up my near mint bone stock 89 civic si h/b last night (76k miles) and while it is running great, it is bone stock and i can't stand a few things about it.

so... while im changing the shift ****, i figured i might as well put a short shifter in it. for those of you who have the skunk2 shoft shifters, do you prefer single or dual bends?? why?

same here. If you do get the shifter also get the shifter bushings. Shifts feel much more solid after replacing the bushings

I think a single or dual bend depends a lot on the length of your arms, or your legs. I have the B&M and it's a (no bend) one pretty much. It's not that bad of a reach, but it still is a reach.

So since I'm 6'2" I wished I had gotten a double bend type shifter, but I don't feel like putting money in that area again.

wow a 89 si w/low miles........nice

Ive got a dual bend in my crx and i love it. It took some getting used to just cause of the placement of where the **** went. When I was in first it felt like it should have been in nuetral. If you get what im saying. Im thinking bout getting another dual bend for my other crx.

I don't believe that Skunk2 makes a dual bend shifter for the 4G civics.

I've got one of the Skunk2 (single bend) shifters and have three comments that you should think about.

The Skunk2 is about the shortest throw one out there! This after talking to the guys at Lighnting Motorsports and getting measurements. It's a little too "short" of a throw for my liking (but then, I'm old).

The Skunk2 is well built and has ball bearings at the bottom end. I'm not sure that it really makes a big difference.

In order for the shifter to have as short a throw as it has, it sticks down under the tunnel more than others. I had to modify my shift rod to clear my exhaust pipe, and then also had to "dimple" it for clearance. Keep in mind that there may be no clearance problems on a stock exhaust system, but then, who has a stock exhaust.

That all said, I wouldn't buy another due to how short the throw is. But if that's what you are after, go for it.

Wes

Yea the bends are for 94+ tegs but you can use them since all shifters are interchangeble.
