Comptech has taken the road like many others (Toda, Sparco, etc) and they do keep pretty tight tabs on what their products are sold for. Plus, the discount for dealers is small in the first place. I do like the icebox, but frown at the price they want for the intake pipe, so I would recommend the stock tube with Comptech box and filter.

Do you have to use the comptech filter with the comptech ice box? I mean can I use stock filter or modified stock filter with K&N cause I hate foam filters.

I know someone who uses the icebox with a K&N on his GS-R but it doesn't flow nearly as well as my Comptech foam filter.
