Are you talking about crossing model years? (EG to EK) If you are, I'm not sure, but if it's the same years, then I think they will interchange

AFAIK EG hatch and EG 4doors can interchange some parts. i think the shocks can fit. correct me if im wrong.

yeah, according to my monroe program they have the same struts between hatch and sedan

All 92-95 Civic shock will fit 92-95 Civics. The shocks didn't change between the 3dr, 2dr and 4drs.
Same with the 96-00. Sedan, hatch, coupe. The shocks are the same.

Actually the 96-00 rear struts have a more narrow lower fork, so using EK struts on any 89-95 Civic requires trimming the lower control arm sleeve/bushing.

Also if you run pre-96 rear struts on the 96-00 Civic you have to add washers on the lower through bolt since the LCA is more narrow than the lower fork opening on the strut.
