Default EG Dash Airbag Question/Opinion...........

Here's the deal...I'm switching the tan interior out of my ej1 93 coupe and replacing it with an oem black interior. The last piece to install is the black dash, however the dash is from a 94 ex so it has pass. side airbag, and that wasn't an option in the 93 ex's so there's nothing to hook up to......Keeping this in mind, I let the seller keep the pass side airbag, which allowed me to get the dash at a great price, but now I have a hole in the pass. side to fill in.

Has anyone encountered this prob before and what was used to solve the problem?...I was thinkin' of buying a small sheet of 3mm cf and fabin' a plate, but I'm looking for any other ideas because cf isn't my favorite but if it's the only thing I can use I'll go with it.....

if this is an appear/cos thread please move......

you could go to the junkyard and just get the pass airbag cover off a wrecked one, that would work and it would just cover the spot, non funtional

that's the prob.....I looked at a honda parts diagram and you can't just buy the cover....it's all one pc......otherwise that was the plan....

as for the junyard thing...if they're still in the car, the airbag is already blown...

you could also fab a fake pad using black vinyl from an upholstery shop for the stock look

considered doing that, too, but I'm afraid it wouldn't match up to the oem dash color, and I'm way **** about my interior....once it's done I'm headin' under the hood, and this is the last thing....

get a CDM airbag blockoff panel. i have a 93 black cx dash in my 94 hatchie (which is opposite of what you are doing) but i had to use my 94 glovebox because of the airbag metal beam thingy....the 93 glovebox was a completely different shape and hit when you tried to close it. just a little tech for ya

oh tan interior glad to see you are making the change.....i don't miss my blue interior one damn bit

I shouldn't have a prob with the glovebox b/c it came with the dash, unless that srs beam hits something on the firewall, but I think I'll be ok.....

as for that CDM SRS blockoff plate, any ideas where I can find one?.....sounds exactly like what I'm lookin' for...
