You would want to either run the 88~91 MPFI distributor (your HF wone will work just fine) if you stay OBD-0.
If you go OBD-1 -
It would be easier to run the Y8 distributor if it comes with the Y8 motor.
You can't run the OBD-0 distributor with the OBD-1 ECU and vice-versa.
If your Y8 doesn't come with a distributor, then you can use the non-D16Z6 OBD-1 distributor on the Y8 head.
They bolt right up with the right bolt pattern. You "can" run the Z6 distributor, BUT the bolt holes won't line up and you will have to modify the distributor or make brackets (look at the mini-me write-up for what gets done to fit the OBD-0 distributor to the Z6 head and do similar, but reverse).
You will want to use your HF harness on the Y8 motor.
Anything else will just be a pain.
