i have a 2001 civic ex coupe with the factory cd player. i wired up everything fine, or so i though and when i turned the cd player on all it would not say anything, so i unwired the battery wire and then all it would say was "CODE" and then i pressed buttons and when i would press the preseason buttons i would get "ERR1" then after a few more "ERR2" and a few more was "ERR3" so how do I get my cd player to work right and what have I done wrong?
I used the red wire with a white stripe for my remote wire.

First, you need to get the code for your factory radio. Nomally it's a 5 digit code. Need to call the dealer or you should have it with your car papers.

Look also in the inside of the glove box lid and see if there is a number in the corner.

 

Well I dont have any papers from it except from the title and I bought it used.
So how do I reset the CD PLAYER?
I do not have a owners manual that is why i am asking.

To reset the unit you need to unplug it and then your going to need the code to get it back to work anyways.

 

well how do u program it and where do u unplug it? and there is no way around it?
and is that what i have to do?

call the dealer, have your VIN number handy, and ask them for your anti-theft radio code...pull the battery lead off again, plug it back in, and then enter the code with your preset buttons

say your code is 51245...preset 5-preset1-preset2-preset4-preset5

and you're good to go

I think your accessory wire in that civic is the red and yellow. Anyway, test with the key and a test light or multimeter.
