Thinking about getting a CRX...
i thinking about buying a 89 crx....hx i think....i dont know anything at all about d series really...i have a 95 gsr and played with B series this whole time...i've heard of MINI-ME swaps and all...i can get a 91 si motor for pretty cheap...what exactly is a mini-me, z6 or y8 head on d16a6? what code is the si motor d16a6? what problems would i run into swapping the d16a6 into the 89? will it mount right up? sorry i have so many stupid questions...really curious about these d series...i hear people are sleeping on all you guys...and i wanna try it out...HELP!

I thought the HF was MPFI?

First off, CRXs came in HF (Light base model kind of like an Si on a diet w/o the bells whistles) DX (Ecobox with a different wiring harness than the Si/HF and Dual Point Fuel Injection) and the Si (Heavy, short gear ratios, sunroof.) You can use either the D16Z6 head or the D16Y8 head. If you use a Y8 head you can reuse the Y7 distributor no problem. Using the Z6 head will require a Z6 distributor then you must repin the wires with an OBD2 plug. Also, make sure you use the Si tranny, I have a FAQ on how to replace D-series trannys if you search the FAQ page, page 2 I think. - Darrell

F that dseries... find one with a blown motor and just get a b18a... easiest swap ever just take ur wiring harness off ur blown motor and put it on ur LS and change a sensor clip and your good to go... except for mounts+shift linkage.. but definately worth it

acually..i found out its a dx...so basically i have to convert from dual point to mpfi huh? is it that much of a hassle? worth it? either way with any decent swap mpfi conversion is required?
and what exactly are the pros/cons of this "mini-me" swap? pricey? what exactly else would i need to get the full potential of this swap? i heard something about older generation pistons would help alot anybody else know more about this?
A very good description of the mini me.
