Default Z10 block girdle?????

WHAT ARE THE BENIFITS OF USING A Z10 BLOCK GIRDLE on a b-series engine. Is it really worth it?

i think it was only worthwhile on the b18 blocks.. i could be wrong tho.. ??

i thought it was for doing an ls/vtec setup so you could support the engine while reving higher. They do it on a lot of v8s too.

It just buttons the bottom end together so that there is less play in the whole rotating assembly at higher RPM's. Its a very good investment if youre going to build it to rev high...but if its not gonna have upgraded cams and valvetrain that will make power at higher rpms then it wont do you any good really.

Type R and GSR has Girdle on them ( Stock )
not sure about B16.
Ls don't have Girdle.
