Default AMS Oils

Has anyone used AMS synthetic oils before? A sales rep talked to me about their oil at a car show and gave me a brochure that claimed that it was better than all of the synthetics in the market. I also remember him saying that with AMS synthetics you only need to change your oil every 10,000 miles. Opinions anybody?

I have run Amsoil since I started to use synth since 12K miles. I ran regular 5w30 then did an Amsoil Engine Flush to clean everything out for Amsoil's 5w30. I now run 0w30 w/o any issues or problems. As of now, I have 53K miles and it's running as strong as it was after the breakin period!

Thanks,

wow that's great thanks for the info! Also is it true about the 10,000 mile per oil change?

They were talking about the 7500 mile change, but I'll just stick to my normal 3000 mile change!! Now if you had a regular car for normal driving, I don't see an issue with it if it's monitored. Just my thoughts.

Thanks,

After I am done building my car(which probally won't be done till april) I am planning to do some lapping days. Do you drag race or lap your car? and Ow30 seems very extreme?

I know I'll be rained on by the Mobil 1 lovers here....but my car really doesn't like it....it burns it like gas....

I've used Amsoil myself for about a year and I am considering going back if the LEL I'm using now doesn't cut it either.

I was using 15W50 and it was just ...uh....not so good. I used the 0W stuff and it was great!

See what your car prefers!
