Is Fully Synthetic Oils overrated? Your opinions?
Is there really a big difference between the 2 oils, conventional vs fully synthetic? Like night and day? Is it really worth the extra $3+ dollars to go with synthetic since I change my oil every 2k anyways? Your thoughts on a turbo honda.

If I was going to Run fully synthetic oil over Conventional I would run like a 15.40w
or possible 20-50w reason why is that the synthetic oil is thinner than your average 10-40w. I was running castrol gtx use to change it every 2000 miles, rebuilding now so I am going to go with the Mobil 15-40w extended performance it says you can go 7000miles or so. I figured I would still change it 3000 miles and see how that does I have work with oil for awhile and I am hearing nothing but good comments about that oil my buddy has a SRT4 and he runs it in his car and when we change his oil its clean

Isn't that stock Specs though, or does it even matter on high HP cars..

Not so. Synthetic and conventional must adhere to the same viscosity standards.

doesn't have much to do with it being synthetic vs conventional, it more has to do with manufacturer cause some 5w30 are thinner than others, one way to compare would be to go by specs and test results like HTHS.
in general synthetic will outperform conventional, if you want to run oils like 5w40 15w50 5w50 10w60, you would Have to use synthetic. for turbocharged application 15w40 conventional in my experience penzoil can do the job during summer, but synthetic just works better. for non turbo everyday driver i stick with conventional 5w30

Changing your oil every 2k is not the answer. Finding the right oil that suits your motor and driving style does.
