How to remove broken spark plug?
You dont have to tell me how dumb it was but I found out the hard way my torque wrench was broken. I had it set at 13 ft/lbs and kept turning thinking this feels awfully tight for that little pressure but it didnt click so I kept going and then heard a snap and the spark plug was broken. Like the whole bottom part where the spark is made after the bolt thing broke off and is stuck in the engine. Is there any way I can get it out myself? Could a machine shop do it? How much would that cost me?
If you can find an extra long easy out along with the proper drill you may be able to get it out yourself. Call around to several machine shops in your area to see if they have any good ideas that don't include pulling the head.
Yeah, I had a similar thing happen, but when taking the plug OUT, it was a JDM B16A, and somehow it ended up with a bunch of water in the plug holes, so there were some problems. I ended up taking the head to a machine shop to take it out. It was ok, because they hotbathed it for me while they were at it...
