Default AEM cai or J's Racing intake for b18b??

Which would benefit me more for a b18b1 engine, so far I will have

Apexi full GT Spec Catback
Cat Bypass
Comptech Headers

So which intake should I pickup:

AEM cai
J's Racing

J's gives good throttle response. Supposedly AEM gives better mid-range or so I have read. AEM makes alotta noise. Its basically up to whichever looks nicer to you. The performance difference is going to be barely noticeable.

Hows this for a reply....There's no difference. All (same diameter) intakes work exactly the same with the exception of the filter. An ebay 15 dollar special w/ a K&N filter will work as well as anything else on the market.

Besides....I doubt you'll really notice a difference in power with any intake anyways. I'd pick up the cheapest one you can find and go from there.

Do you even know what a J's racing intake looks like?

Apparently not... the thing the guy is holding is the J's

read in the itr forum that the aem intake doesnt provide the best hp numbers but has better sound. id go with the j's intake, that is if you are more for performance

All I care about is performance, but thats in the itr forum I don't have a b18c5, I only have a b18b which means no vtec, and a low redline.

Can anyone actually help me here?

I wish I could actually help you but I have no good info on the J's racing Intake

Between a CAI and an SRI Intake and any name brand there is very little difference, so whether you get a brand name (ie AEM, Injen, etc) or a no name...you will see very little difference

I don't have much info on J's racing but this is a good answer

"J's gives good throttle response. Supposedly AEM gives better mid-range or so I have read. AEM makes alotta noise. Its basically up to whichever looks nicer to you. The performance difference is going to be barely noticeable."

and I also saw this response once which is good

"It has a large diamater intake chamber, but its tappered. Which results in higher air flow quanitity and velocity. Best short ram you can get."

from the info i gathered the fake j's intakes are mad for civics, due to the filter location on the end they wont work on integras, so if you dont have abs on your integra can use a fake one. J's racing intakes are made for cars with or with out abs you just gotta let then know what your car has so it will fit correctly. as for a fake j's that will fit an integra with abs, i havent found one yet.

to answer the first question in the post, id go with the J's intake over the aem.

i took the top cover off my stock airbox and forgot to put it back on and OMG that thing is so loud....its like i got vtek y0

but anyways, if you/anyone find(s) a fake j's racing intake compatible with the abs system in my dc4, please let me know...i was thinking about getting the intake and just cutting it up/modding it to work with my abs unit...maybe when i have some extra cash i'll try it out

thats the j's for the s2000 genius, the one for the integra isnt near that big, well its longer and doesnt have such of an abrubt angle....here ill show you...

i got it to fit on the gsr manifold...although it was obviously impossible due to the fact that everyone on HT said you couldnt do it anyways it can be done...oh yeah, on stock intake manifold this is not the ideal intake either...i made less with the stock gsr mani, but thats a whole other problem in itself, once i get the new IM i will try the intake test again and see what i come up with

for the b18b you would be better off with a cai. the j's is made for high reving engines. any cai would be better for a non-vtec because it will help with both tq and hp.

^ this is what i was trying to say..
the j's racing intake was designed for an itr... first of all.. isnt the itr t/b bigger?
and 2nd of all.. it was designed for the high flowing, high revving b18c5... on a b18b, you will probably feel minimal gains...
when i had an arc style intake i felt alot of bottom end lost also... so im not sure if the j's racing is a good choice..
might be better to stick with an intake designed for a b18b... but then again.. has anyone tried a j's racing on a b18b? ive never seen anyone try it...
