he's doin just fine for now, or whatever, but dont chance it man. get the part for your application.. notice how agx's are the cheapest out of the 3 types of adjustable shock/strut's..
his day will come. i mean i've heard guys saying "my kyb gr-2's are doin great on my 3.0" all way round drop.. no problems here

week later, he posted.. "my gr2's blew, what should i get next?..."

I have these shocks and thats what the manufacturer reccomends. If you want to take your chances go ahead but there is a chance of them going on you.
Maybe you can get away with 2.5 for a while but thats not what the shocks are made for. Of course some people are going to say different things. There are people on here that say their cars are slammed on stock springs and they don't blow but thats just what one person says. Do what you want but if you want to be sure on not blowing them out drop the extra $100 and get some Koni Yellows.

no matter how good of a driver you are, things are always goin to suprize you, or your goin to not be payin 100% attention and go over a dip or something.. and when your on the freeway, at 60+ speed's, the smallest dip or hill will make your car go up and down alot. dont try to save a buck just to get *adjustable* shocks.
your next bet would be to get tokico blues for around the same price as agx's, no adjustability tho, but they'll handle 2.5"

Haha I've got AGX's on a 3+ drop and I'm gonna raise it back on the coilovers. ****'s too bouncy, and I bet I've blown them already.... the ride's not as good as it was for a day, or two, so yea, buy something better!

I wouldn't say that AGX's aren't a good product, they're just not meant for large drops. I'm using AGX's w/ H&R OEs (.75" drop) without any problems at all.

ive had kyb agx with neuspeed race springs for over a year and they did fine on the 3rd setting.
i heard you cant use soft settings or it will damage the shock quicker.
