Default Couple problems in my 98 ek...HELP!!!

Okay heres the deal. When I go to turn my key in my ignition, the car doesn't turn over or even try to start. If you keep the key turned after a couple seconds, it sometimes starts. I dont understand this problem. The car will not start right away like it should..and suggestions...?

Once I noticed this problem, I also noticed that headlights dim when I am driving down the road...Could the two problems be linked together??

Please help....

At first glance, it could be the battery, the alternator, battery cable - have them checked at autozone or something.

I second that.. I had a problem like that and after taking it to an Autozone..they check my battery and it was bad..got a new one and never had that problem again.
