HI!
I'm getting a old integ 89 rs and I was told that the stock engine is too weak to do anything with.. so I have been looking at engines mostly online and was thinking of doing a SiR II swap or some USDM engine.. What is a better idea? Is the SiR II swap possible? If so around how much should I be expecting to pay? What are all the parts that I need to besure to have w/ the motor? and can anyone tell me a trustable company/website/person that I can purchase a motor from?
I would greatly appreciate any advice or help you guys can give me! I just got into this hobby and I don't know too much so if you know something better than a swap then please tell me! thanks

 

B18B are dirt cheap.....

 

any B series motor will haul *** in a 1st gen. b16, b18, b20, b21, etc.

the cheaper ones will be b18a/b ls motors

 

its gonna cost a pretty penny...well i would suggest the jdm b16 sir1...you can trust hmotorsonline.com good reviews...wat your gonna need is axles, motor mounts, shift linkage, and a wireharness for the new ecu...that should be it...correct me if im wrong guys...this stuff alone is gonna cost you alot...the motor mounts which i believe that hasport is the only manufacturer for the car will cost you around 650...so yea...think long and hard if you wanna do this...i would say around 4-5gs...to make this kind of setup work...

 

thank you all for the advice.. i still have to decide on SiR I or II ... grr my friends all say that the SiR I is really slow and not worth getting... they all say to get a b18.. and my friend with a prelude says GET THE H22!!! but when i look at my engine bay... i really dont think you can fit one it there.. are all the B series engines the same size?
