Do you think this tranny is damaged?
Well I plan on buying another Prelude with a 5 speed to swap into mine. I have been watchin the auctions for something to come up. I checked today and saw this car. Below are some pics. Would just like everyones opinion on rather or not they think that the tranny could be damaged because of the axle being ripped out or whatever.
Let me know what you guys think. Car goes up for auction today (8/3) so I need to make up my mind fast.
Thanks

I dont know. It looks ads if the axle was just ripped out of the hub. I honestly would chance it but I am not there to look at it. You would have the best idea.
the axle pops out of the tranny with minimal force, so there is a good chance that no damage was done. However you would have to look in person, i wouldn't just speculate and then buy it.
I would definetly go check that car out.

Judging from the location and amounts of oil underneath the car, I would say the oil pan is cracked and possibly the tranny case. Usually the inboard cv joint will pull apart before it will come out of the tranny. You are just going to have to crawl underneath the car and check it out. If the tranny is cracked, it is probably going to be somewhere near the axle. May have gotten hit by it. May have also hit a rock and cracked it. But you can definetely see a puddle of oil underneath the motor and another under the tranny.

minimal force. I dont know about your axles but mine have this thing called a nut on the end on them and its suposed to hold it in
.
But I see what you are saying about the inside part that goes into the tranny. Still I dont think the tranny is good. I am sure its got something wrong with it.
