Default Is building a b18B engine worth it?

As im watching all these videos on our local site, I realize... people are going to remember this guy because he was something special. he went above what other people were doing. he moved away some time ago, and people still talk about how great his work was.

I have an integra ls. stock everything for now. I want to know if its worth building a b18b1 engine. Ive seen videos of b18c1 engines cranking out huge numbers. Will a b18b1 engine ever create those kinds of numbers?

Screw N/A. Lets not even mention it. I am talking turbo. Lots of PSI. Lots of HP AND torque. Anyone seeing 10's out of these engines... even 11's?

Thanks for help.

bump

my goal is 300 whp and 225 lbft of torque.
is this possible with a daily driven b18b1 engine? maybe ls/vtec?

you could make that with ls/vtec on like 6-8 lbs, depending on tuning

swap it to a GSR. LS are really not that reliable look for more threads youll see most likely nothing but problems with them

hmmm.... that was an ignorant comment. he was talking about building his anyways. There's a guy with a full interior ls on drag radials running 11's on team-integra. He's got a fully built b18b1 and is puttin out somewhere around 400 whp.

Thats w/ GE sleeves, eagle rods, wiseco pistons, ARP headstuds, cometic headgasket, and get this a DRAG 3 KIT!!

styleteg is very correct, there's a number of guys using non-vtec motors making good power, NA and FI, as a matter of fact some people prefer the LS engine for turbo appilcations. A well tuned LS Setup can be a blast and with headwork 300hp is attainable and well worth the time and money.

i mena i know people wit this swap and its not the best the oil pump isnt good or anything. basically the money that u spend on making it a decent motor is enopuch money that u could buy a "good" swap with IMO

haha wow, you're trying to argue that the LS motor is bad because of the oil pump it comes with? Maybe you should go to a thread/forum where you actually have a slight ounce of knowlege on what your talking about. I have been running 373whp with pump gas on my "POS" b18b for over a year now with many compromises for street driving, and the only problem I've run into is my tires wear out a bit too fast. Just cause your friends don't know how to correctly build a motor, doesn't mean that the b18b is a poor base to start with.

o damn! good luck with that man. Unfortunately, I didnt have the knowledge to swap the b18b into a hatch, so i am stuck with this heavy *** integra body.

Well I am going to read. and read and read. So 9secqtr, what is your setup? if you dont mind me asking.

no i dont mind
Built for the SFWD class
10.28:1 cp pistons, custom eagle rods, darton pro mid sleeves, jg turbo cams and built head, external oil pump, aeromotive fuel pump 1200cc injectors, jg manifold and t-body, AEM ems, Turbonetics T-72 turbo and racegate, greddy bov...lots more

we are going to try to achieve the 650 mark at around 26-28 psi hopefully we can do it in less i will also be spraying a 55 shot just for some help spooling the turbo.

It should be done (fully I hope) for the NOPI nationals.
1 week at Kens Kustom Chassis 1 week in the body shop and then just install the motor I hope I have it done by then.
