Nope. Wheel hop you will feel like your bouncing and you get no traction and don't go anywhere. The car will be shaking violently.
wheel hops are usually when you launch on 1st gear and your wheel front just starts hopping.....usually due to bad motor mounts.....some motor inserts should solve the wheel hops and maybe get some traction bar...never used it....but some people say it helps a whole lot

Well a quick and hard shift should jerk the car forward. That means your clutch is grabbing good, not great for your tranny though.
