Default Losing oil pressure, I need technical advice guys!

So over the course of the last few months I've encountered a loss of oil pressure around hard left handers during track days, even to a point where I drop out of VTEC. To help fight this, I've put on a baffled pan, and kept my oil overfilled 1/2 quart at all times. Still, same thing today, definately a problem now, because my previous methods have yielded no positive results

So now I ask, what else can I do to my car to make the oil system more reliable, besides a dry sump. I'm thinking of stepping down my oil filter size to increase overall pressure, and hopefully that does some good, but I'm doubtfull that will do anything.

I do have a friend who installs dry sumps in ferrari's and porsche's for a vintage race team, so he can rig something up for me, but the fab cost and extensiveness of the project are not where I want to go right now.

TIA

Assuming you have a guage,

Suspect it first, then the sending unit.

If you still have the problem with a different guage,

check to oil pump for proper pressure, by-pass, spring, etc.

Change brands of oil filters.

You have some sort of problem - ITR should not have any problems with a baffled pan.

I run the smaller Hamp filters, and my motor hasnt blown up yet. You may have a wiring issue, vtec solenoid issue, clogged pickup (have you dropped the pan?), or some other sensor issue thats causing the car to drop off the big cam - but I doubt its oil at the sump.

Which pan are you using? All baffled pans aren't created equal.

Thats what I'm saying. B18C's with a baffled pan should not have any problems with oil around the pickup.

I'm going to be inspecting the pump and pickup next week, maybe I'll shim the pump while I'm there.

Well I dont know if thats a good thing to hear, but at least there's someone else out there experiencing the same thing with the basic oil mods.

Has anyone tried the Moroso Accusump? I hear that it works great, and I may try it starting next season.

I have a baffled pan, and I loose pressure on hard left turns as well. Maybe the oil gets trapped above the baffle againsed the side of the pan, and cannot drain to the bottom of the sump where the pick-up is.

Has anyone played with an external air/oil separator or extending the pickup futher down (closer to the bottom of the pan)?
