DA teg's what you use for cupholders?
So right now i usually just take off a shoe and stick my drink in that... But i saw a thread using a taurus cupholder and sticking it in the ashtray spot? i dont know if its for DA tegs because it fits two drinks and i think that may be to big for just the ashtray spot... anyways i just wanna know what everyone does with thier drinks?
thanks
thanks
You're mixing it up, you can either:
1) get a Taurus cup holder (has 2 holes) and with a little drilling you can mount it below the radio.
2) buy the OEM honda cup holder setup
3) Buy RUBBERQUEEN PART NO 5121 at Pep Boys, this is a single cup holder with a tab on the back, which fits into the ashtray and kind of clicks into place. Only $2.99
I went with #3 for now
There are also some aftermarket armrests that have built in drink holders

Well ****, i cant do #1 cuz the cd player din thing isnt normal, it has some thing so you can put two cd's with cases in there... what is the #2 option?
ash tray oem cup holder
i got one but it sux it doesnt hold em right if i put like a can of soda it falls down
i think the person that sold it to me cuted it up and now is sux!
rubberqueen seems the best option!

i guess ill just keep a spare shoe in my car till i find the rubberqueen... is pepboys the only place with it? i think kragen, autozone, and monument are really the only ones i can think of near my house
The OEM cup holder is $14 on http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org, I think it also slides in the ash tray but is beefier than the rubberqueen one. The rubberqueen works fine for me, I think if you have a narrow drink then it might fall toward you occasionally, so you may want to tape the front of the cupholder so it isn't as flimsy. But it works well for $2.99 and looks relatively normal in that spot.

Pep Boys sells it in gray, but you can see where there is a space in the holder that could allow the drink to move toward you a bit. The part they have pictured hanging over the door is the part I stuck in the ashtray.
here's a thread from g2ic showing the taurus cup holder and explaining how to do it.

I am pretty sure Kragen carries it as well, as well as Advance and Autozone - I guess Rubberqueen is a well known cup holder company. Also, online you can buy it from Auto Barn or something.

I usually drive with a passenger so I make then hold my drinks
But, when i drive alone I leave my drinks between my seat and emergency brake. It doesn't seem safe but i havn't had a problem doing that so far.

i have the optional armrest w/ cupholders from a dealership. you can get them used off g2ic.com pretty often. i never use my armrest cupholders cause i'd rather rest my arm on it. i wedge my drink in between the e-brake and the seat, passenger see's me do it and does the same. this method (i used method describing this subject
) works really well w/ cans. whenever i use like a 20 oz drink from a fast food joint, i have to hold onto the cup whenever i brake hard or have to make a turn hard or else it tips over. thats my way of doing things...

I've got a collapsible Razo cupholder that you attach at the vents. When its folded you can use it to hold small items like a cell phone and when you fold it out it fits cups.
OEM DA center console with small storage compartment and 2 cup holders. Sits over the e-brake between the seats, but the openings for the cups are not very big. They kind of suck if you have anything larger than a md/lg drink. They fit fine for the smaller drinks, the part that bothers me is it won't fit a 16+oz MountainDew bottle.

That's exactly what happens in my car, just sometimes when there is all sorts of stuff in there I hope that I don't have to pull the e-brake at any time. Depending on what kind of drink it is too (like a gatorade) it can make a pretty decent armrest as well.

I used to think that was a cool idea, I even got the cupholder/coin tray from the junkyard, but look at how damn ugly it is... I was about to put it in but the more I looked at it, the more I figured I could deal with the space between the seat and e-brake...
I guess I just like the appearance too much, but it would bother me to have that in my dash. That's my .02
