swaping valve cover help
well i got a b18c1 and got a jdm itr valve cover for it and a new gasket, but my friend keeps telling me i need new "gorment" or "Gormets" or whatever its called and i need 4 .. do i really need to replace these?
I believe he is refering to the grommet/gasket for the spark plugs. You might be able to reuse the ones on ur current valve cover but I would replace them, depending on cost-- if they are cheap then definitely. If you want to reuse the old ones make sure there are no small cracks and that they havn't hardened up.
they are calle
grommets.
and they are not the ones that go on the sparkplugs...
they are the ones that actually hold up your
valve cover..
a cheap valve cover gasket set will not include them
so go to acura dealer and pick them up for penies.....

Just FYI, from the dealer, they are like $2something each.

nope, we are talking about the one that goes under the spark plugs under the valve cover.

Yes, that's what he's talking about. They actually give the valve cover support under there and "hold it up." If they weren't there, the oil would leak freely into the spark plug hole area.
