Master and slave cylinder out, Feel i might be getting ripped off-HELP
OK, so i was on my way to work this morning, when i get in my car and the clutch pedal hits the floor with no effort at all. I think o ****, what the hell am i going to do? So i hop in my moms car and head off to work whiule my family has it towed to a service station. I come home to find out that they have told them that the master and slave cylinder for the clutch are out and that it is going to cost $400 to replace. That took me a second to get straight in my head. Am I wrong or does $400 sound like a rather extreme number? I need help with this as they have not yet started working on my car yet and if they are trying to rip me off i want to get it back and to someone who is more resonable or even do it myself.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,

Check out http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org, it should be cheaper there.
I don't know what year your integ is but I look up one for a 95LS and it's $97.58 for the master and 61.52 for the slave....alot cheaper than $400!

labor, and parts mark up. don't forget to add the cost of fluids too. did you took it to a dealer? that price sound like a dealer price.
and find out how many hrs of labor they are charging you. and their labor rate.

No, this isn't even a dealer, this is a local phillips 66. YEah, i know, i feel shitty enough having somone else do it without being told it sucks. This whole ignorance thing isn't really working out for me.
