Default Civic Go-Kart Project

I have a friend that is selling a running 1990 civic hatchback for $250. It is base model engine and manual transmission.

I was thinking about chopping everything off, including roof, doors, trunk, seats, bla bla bla, adding a rollcage, and turning it into a go-kart to drive around my neighboorhood.

How much weight do i stand to lose by taking everything off.
How will this kart handle? I know itll still be ff, but i expect it to handle well (im gonna drop it on performance springs, lol)
Are there any electrical lines in the roof, doors, etc that are vital to this car running? I dont have to worry about lights, windows, release anything.

I know ill probably get flamed as hell for blasphemy this and that, but thanks for the help.

They did the same to this Sentra and it was WAY faster in the 1/4...

Sounds like fun to me if you can spare the cash

if you cut off the roof and the doors the car will have no frame and will start to buckle in half. You will need to make sure you build a good rool cage to reinforce it. or leave the main support going through te roof in place and this could be your cage
