my friends about to get a new car and he was gonna decide on gettin the RSX-type S but then he says he changed his mind for a Hyundai i almost !@# my pants when i heard that. what do you guys think of it? i think it kinda looks like a buncha cars mashed together, *ahem* mustang sides*

How are Hyundai's for reliability?

Hyundai's have good reliability and build quality now. Get out of the 80's .

If you don't believe me just go down and test drive one sometime.

Hyundai tiberon or RSX-type S no comparison. RSX way better and higher resale value too. Everytime I think of the Hyundai I see Hyundai PONY... Acura RSX all the way.

maybe i'll get it as my next car , 10 year warrenty and then all those tiburon manufacturers are good too. There's hella modded TIbs in KOrea. Its like their Honda Civic.

 

The new tiburon looks like a pretty nice car but I wouldn't get it over a Type-S.

 

damn, that does look pretty nice.......looks for looks, i'd go with the tiburon, but overall, the RSX is better........but 10 grand+ better?

true its a mix of all of those cars but I give it -- hyundai or not!!! and someone posted an interior pic a couple of months ago, the seats look sweeeeeeeeeeeet!

 

my freind test drove it... he said it was amazing.... who knows, maybe they made a good car

 

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. the seats are made by Recaro .

 

I know 2 people that have hyundai's and they are great!!! one kid has a 95' Elantra with an Eclipse turbo in it and other custom mods, dyno'd at around 320hp. The other has a 97' Accent GT, custom stage 3 turbo, and a whole lot of engine work, pushing around 245hp, so not all Hyundai's suck.....

 

my friend tim also has a 94 elantra turbo, its pretty quick.

i'd have to test drive both cars to decide. However i'm not fond with the rsx appearance =/. Hyundai has actually improved alot in the past few years. Its unfortunate that its history is hindering its sales. But the Hyundai ten years ago is not the same Hyundai as today. Its like black and white, night and day. I for one will give it a chance of respectability until proven otherwise.

 

Hmmm, crewjones, I would like to see some pictures as well. I am from Watertown, MA. Do your friends live in Stoughton bc I would love to see those beasts in person! Show us some pics!

I got used to the design now and i like it, just that the name Hyundai made me kinda prejudice because of their bad reputation. And i think the tiburon is the only reason hyundai is doing fairly good cause in korea they got tiburon only races and they rally that junk.

Welll dont get me wrong i love honda. but personally i think it looks to bloated and heavy(all tiburons). But not to much that it still doesnt look nice. But 177ft-lbs of torque ??? c'mon peeps whats wrong with that?? it will blow all stock and bolted i/h/e gsr's out there hands down. And like some other guy said vtec is great but 2.7 liters is a lil better. no replacement for what???---"displ....
but how much does that thing weigh??

oh and the name sucks and actually i think hundai would benfit from a name change as well to start fresh
