I am attempting to replace the muffler on my wife's 1991 Accord DX. The bolts/nuts are in good shape; not too corroded by the elements. But they are on there TIGHT!!! I tried PB blaster but can't seem to get them loose. I have a torch if it comes to it that I can heat them up. Any recommendations? Thanks.

 

good ol' MAN POWER! if you dont have an impact gun, then try putting a wrench on em... and then slip a large pipe on the hangle of the wrench, and by doing this you have more leverage and therefore more torque to work with. if it doesnt work (keeps fallin off, no luck) then hell, flamethrower time!

 

I will try my friend's impact. Then torch it if that doesn't work! hehe. Thanks guys.

 

torch - heat 'em up really good then unbolt. heat should loosen them right up

 

Long pipe on the end of a wrench works all the time

 

Screw that, PB Blaster owns all.

Spray it good, bang on the bolt with a wrench, and spray it again, and let it sit overnight. It WILL come loose.

 

I would also try PB Blaster along with some air tools. Should not be to bad.

 

heat nut up slightly red it will swell for easy removal. dont heat bolt only nut
