99 civic ex cd console removal

i jus picked up my civic on the 27th and i need to install a cd player. I have no idea how to remove the center console witout tearin up my car. I tryed to pry wit a flat head but i heard somethin fall in to the abyss of the car so i dunno wat the hell that was...a screw? Thanks.
