Hi guys,
So anyways, I'm supposed to start my swap on the 4th, and I am here dissassembling the motor for transport. I keep finding crap missing here and there...yesterday my throwout bearing spring was bad, today it was my alternator which had a different socket. But now I see that my TB is missing the small metal pipe above the TB.
I was just wondering what would happen if I run the car without a line running from that small metal pipe which is supposed to be connected to the EVAP canister. I'll probably have to do this for a few days until I can fix the problem.
TIA

Nothing bad will happen. in the case you do get a significant vacuum leak through there, just plug it with some playdoh. Or quicksteel, if you want it plugged permanently.
Although for cali smog, I assume, you'd want it to be connected to the evap, sooner or later.

It's on the intake side of the throttle plate, so I'm assuming that it's not a vacuum source but an atmospheric source. I did manage to get my old B16a TB and cut off the pipe on the TB. I could put that on the tip of my vacuum line and use a little super glue and some zip ties to make sure it stays on the TB. That should hold me over until I can get a large diameter BBK or other aftermarket TB.
